New MD for Synovate Hungary

Synovate has announced the appointment of Zoltan Bodo as Managing Director in Hungary, replacing the recently promoted George Christodoulides.

Christodoulides' move to Dubai was announced two weeks ago - his new role is Managing Director of Synovate Gulf.

Bodo spent five years with The Coca-Cola Company, initially as Marketing Intelligence & Strategic Planning Manager for Hungary, and then as Business Intelligence Manager for Central Europe, before working as a Management Consultant for FMCG and beverage brands. He began his MR career in 1992 and worked for non-governmental and media organisations before going to AC Nielsen where he worked on key local and international FMCG, tobacco and financial service accounts.

He also teaches MBA courses in Marketing Research and Consumer Behaviour at the region's CEU Business School.

Kurt Thompson, Synovate CEO for Central/Eastern Europe and the Middle East, comments: 'Zoltan is a talented manager combining a wealth of marketing research experience, extensive client side business knowledge, and consulting expertise.'

Six of Hungary's polling and MR companies recently formed an alliance called the Professional Market Researchers (PPT), according to online publication www.napi.hu . The aim of the founders - AGB Nielsen, GfK, Medián, RI Hoffmann, Szonda Ipsos and TNS - is to promote quality standards and the reputation of the industry; monitor trends and spread new ideas. The body will operate alongside the existing Hungarian Association of Market Research Organisations, online at www.pmsz.org .
