BBC Worldwide Hires Marketing Director

In the UK, BBC Worldwide has promoted Helen Kellie to the new post of Director of Marketing, responsible for building its marketing and audience research functions. She takes up the new post on 1 October.

Helen KellieKellie joined the BBC in 2000 as Head of Brand and Planning, and latterly became Head of Marketing Communications and Audiences at BBC Vision. While in this role, she worked on marketing campaigns for shows such as Doctor Who and Strictly Come Dancing and oversaw the integration of tBBC Vision's market research and audience insight teams. Prior to joining, she held various marketing positions at household products giant Reckitt Benckiser in the UK, New York and Paris.

BBC Worldwide said her appointment was key to its transition as it moves to become a more consumer-facing business.

Kellie now reports directly to John Smith, CEO of BBC Worldwide, who comments: 'Helen's skills in understanding audiences and creating consistent brands across multiple platforms will be crucial in the next phase of BBC Worldwide's development as it takes the BBC brand to audiences around the world.'
