Nielsen Launches Hollywood Analysis Service

In the US, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) - the trade publication for the film industry - has linked up with parent company Nielsen to offer a customized data analysis service, and appointed Nielsen Entertainment Media Analyst James Li to head the initiative.

The new THRintelligence service will consist of white papers customized for clients who need drill-down data and analysis about the TV, film, video, music and/or games business. These reports will tap into Nielsen's research expertise and THR's own entertainment and media experience.

Li joined THR four months ago, having worked for Nielsen Entertainment for the previous four years. At Nielsen, he managed domestic and international film market research projects for Hollywood studios and participated in such projects as the firm's China movie market research and a worldwide mobile game study.

'We are delighted to have James working with us on this new venture,' stated THR VP and Associate Publisher Rose Einstein. 'This is yet another step in expanding THR's ability to meet the needs of the ever-expanding global entertainment marketplace.'

The unit is already conducting several projects for clients in the US and abroad.

THR, the first Hollywood-based daily trade newspaper covering the entertainment industry, launched in 1930. The firm is now owned by Nielsen Business Media.
