Openwave Launches Mobile Analytics Service

US mobile and broadband software developer Openwave Systems has launched an analytics service to track mobile Internet traffic, the duration of web site visits and how frequently subscribers are accessing social networking sites.

The firm's new Openwave Mobile Analytics solution includes a Mobile Business Intelligence (MBI) module and Behavioral Targeting platform, which correlates data from a carrier's subscriber demographics and classifies web site traffic to create behavioural categories of subscribers.

In addition, the service helps carriers understand how social networking traffic impacts SMS revenue, who is monetizing Smartphone traffic and how it is being done. It seeks also to explain behaviour and to forecast future trends. The system does not require cookies or JavaScript to tag and monitor user activity.

'By better understanding mobile data usage patterns, carriers can identify and deliver relevant revenue generating services,' stated Sean MacNeill, VP and General Manager, Services Management and Global Services. 'Openwave Mobile Analytics creates a window for carriers to build a 360 degree view of their subscribers and a clear map of the content being accessed and the audiences using it.'

Openwave Systems is headquartered in Redwood City, California and is online at www.openwave.com .
