Foviance Buys Applied Insights

In the UK, user experience consultancy Foviance has acquired Oxford-based Applied Insights, a provider of web and predictive analytics for the improvement of customers' online performance. Terms were not disclosed.

Neil MasonFoviance offers experience consultancy across web sites, telephone, TV and print, including eye-tracking and one-to-one and group sessions from its usability lab and from remote viewing facilities. The firm says the acquisition will accelerate the development of its technology agnostic analytics division, and support its strategy to provide a comprehensive customer experience solution to its global customer base.

John McConnell, who founded Applied Insights in 2004 with Neil Mason, will leave to pursue his own consultancy activities. Mason joins Foviance as a Board member and Director of Analytical Consulting in charge of the analytics consulting team, Foviance Applied Insights.

Mason has 25 years' marketing analytics and strategy experience. Prior to co-founding Applied Insights, he worked in a number of senior roles at companies including QXL, Research International, and ACNielsen. He also serves on the Board of the Web Analytics Association.
