Oncology Consultancy Launched
In Hudson, Ohio, USA, three health care experts have launched onPoint Oncology, LLC, which will provide cancer specialists with customized provider data reporting, targeted market research, and 'reimbursement consulting' to streamline payment processes.
Partners Tracy Lewis, Bobbi Buell and Keith Thompson say their firm will promote and distribute 'novel, technology-driven solutions' for the cancer care sector, including Medicare-certified e-prescribing; verification of patient/provider benefits; and new methods for cash generation.
Lewis is a former VP of Sales and Business Development for the International Oncology Network ('ION'), and was also National Director Sales for P4 Healthcare and a Sales Manager for Oncology Supply.
Ms. Buell, a reimbursement specialist, founded and led Documedics, which was acquired by U.S. Bioservices in 2002 and AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group in 2003. Her focus will include product selection, database research, program development and provider market research.
Thompson is a practising Medical Oncologist at Montgomery Cancer Center, Montgomery, Alabama, with considerable experience in the management of electronic data for oncology, and will work to integrate payment and clinical data into customized strategic solutions for providers and manufacturers.
Lewis, who is CEO of the new company, comments: 'The purpose of onPoint Oncology is to bring to office-based cancer clinics ONLY products with easy adoption, instant financial results, and affordable price tags.' Lewis says the new firm will 'do the leg work' for practices at the same time as partnering with them to 'collect information that will benefit cancer companies and their relationships with practices'.
