New President for JD Power

In the US, automotive specialist JD Power and Associates has named Finbarr O'Neill as its new President, succeeding Stephen Goodall who is retiring after 30 years with the company.

Finbarr O'NeillO'Neill joined in March as SVP and General Manager of International Operations, with responsibility for the firm's international development throughout Asia Pacific, Europe and Canada.

He was previously Vice Chairman and CEO of dealership management software firm Reynolds and Reynolds, and also held positions as Co-Chairman, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motor Sales North America, and President and CEO of Hyundai Motor America.

In addition, O'Neill is a past Board Chairman of the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers. He has a BA in political science from Columbia University and a law degree from Fordham University School of Law.

'Fin is extremely well prepared to enhance JD Power's role in bringing the voice of the customer to the forefront of decision-making in key global industries,' said Glenn Goldberg, President of the Information & Media segment of JD Power's parent group The McGraw-Hill Companies.

'I also want to recognize Steve Goodall's considerable contributions to the firm's success over the last 30 years, in particular during his 12 years as President,' Goldberg added.

Goodall joined the company in 1978 and has served as President since 1996. He will assist O'Neill in the leadership transition and work on various initiatives until April 1, 2009.
