Grant to Fund Virtual World Research

In Singapore, market research firm The Kalypso Agency has been awarded funding to analyse online virtual worlds, as part of a 5-year $500m incentive programme to transform ideas into 'breakthrough' products.

Support has come from the Singapore Interactive and Digital Media Programme Office (IDM-PO) which is providing the grant as part of its i.JAM initiative.

Kalypso aims to combine actual behavioral data with marketing metrics to help businesses evaluate their investment in virtual worlds.

'We are delighted to receive the support of the Singapore government for our market research initiatives in the virtual world,' stated Kalypso Co-Founder Nicholas Cameron. 'There are more than sixty virtual worlds now and there is a fundamental need for quality marketing research, as this medium continues to grow.'
