Consumer Contact Opens Canadian Call Center

At a time when other call centers are offshoring their data collection activities, Canadian firm Consumer Contact has opened a new center in the north east area of Toronto, Ontario, and is recruiting more than 400 new research interviewers.

Derek BildfellThe company currently has four call centers - three in Toronto and one in Montreal - and employs over 1000 contract research interviewers and 80 full-time staff.

'Our telephone data collection service has grown significantly over the past few years, due to our specialization in customer satisfaction and loyalty monitoring and reporting,' President Derek Bildfell explained. 'We are making a long term commitment to provide excellence in data collection while many of our competitors are cutting back or outsourcing overseas.'

Bildfell says that new interviewers for the center will be selected for their 'communication, technical abilities and professionalism', and all will undergo an extensive training program for which they are fully paid.

Consumer Contact has been providing research data collection to international clients for more than 38 years. While its call centers focus on telephone data collection for research, its ResearchByNet division conducts online data collection.

Last week, US CRM outsourcing firm ICT Group announced that it will no longer be providing market research services, and that it will be closing or partially closing six of its contact centers in the US and Canada.
