Double Helix Hires for New Venture

Healthcare research consultancy Double Helix (DH) has opened a division which will conduct strategic pricing, reimbursement and market access studies. The team will be led by industry veteran Andrew (Drew) Baker.

Drew BakerThe new 'Double Helix Consulting US' unit has been established to help clients optimize product commercialization through services that span the product lifecycle such as product value message development and testing, commercial assessment, pharmacoeconomic evaluation and health technology assessment.

Commenting on the new venture, Dr Wayne Phillips, CEO of the parent company said: 'The establishment of Double Helix Consulting US is a further extension of our core business and continues our overall expansion and development programme for 2009 and beyond.'

As President, Baker will lead the team of strategic pricing, reimbursement and market access consultants. He has more than 20 years' experience operating in and consulting to the global biopharma and healthcare industries. Prior to joining, he spent 14 years with Pfizer and was a founding member of the firm's Outcomes Research function. He also worked for Merck's public policy group, and spent six years in biopharma consulting. Baker has an MBA from Duke University, a Master of Public Affairs from Princeton, and a BA in economic policy and BS in communications from Syracuse University.

Founded in 1995, the firm is headquartered in Central London, with US offices in Fort Washington, near Philadelphia. The new division is based in the greater New York area.
