New Research Head for VisitBritain

Former Holiday Which? Head of Research Anne Harvey has taken on the newly created role of Head of Policy at VisitBritain, the UK's national tourism agency.

Anne HarveyHarvey most recently worked at the House of Commons as Parliamentary Business Manager for the Scottish National Party's Westminster Group, and was awarded Parliamentary Researcher of the Year last year. She previously spent a decade at Holiday Which? magazine handling responses on all government tourism consultations, in addition to providing feedback on British destinations.

Reporting to Director of Strategy and Insights, Patricia Yates - another former Holiday Which? executive - Harvey will be responsible for helping VisitBritain influence government opinion-formers to support the growth of the country's £114bn visitor economy.

Working closely with VisitBritain's Head of Government Affairs and alongside public and private sector industry organisations, she will identify barriers to the competitiveness of Britain as a destination, and develop a shared, research-based policy agenda to effect change.

Yates commented: 'Anne is a familiar face to many political figures and her experience in policy formation and knowledge of parliamentary processes will complement our existing expertise. She will be invaluable in helping us keep the pressure on Government to recognise the role tourism can play in creating jobs and supporting the UK economy.'
