MTdiamTtrie and Jungo Open Up Digital Home

French media research agency Médiamétrie has teamed up with software developer Jungo to create a solution for collecting data relating to the user habits and preferences of those living in 'digital households'.

The solution is based on Jungo's HomeSense software, which enables real-time collection of data on user preferences to provide a view of digital traffic flow carried out on all devices within the home. This traffic includes broadband services such as Internet browsing, mobile telephony, IPTV, network gaming and VoIP.

Jungo's raw data logs will now be correlated by Médiamétrie's tools, which will then add a layer of intelligence to convert the data into audience measurement datasheets for use by service providers. In addition, the partnership will provide identification of the type, model and status of all home network devices and perform statistical analysis of all media uses offered by digital access.

The firms say the combination of their skills will enable providers to offer better services to subscribers as well as new features targeted to a subscriber's specific profile.

Laurent Battais, Performance and Cross-media Director at Médiamétrie, comments: 'The technology developed by Jungo is particularly innovative and interesting, as it resides at the crossroads between the network and the household. It enables a more in-depth assessment of the habits and tastes in the digital home.'

Founded in 1985, Médiamétrie conducts research on TV, radio, Internet, movies, mobile phone and cross-media. In 2008, the group turned over EUR 57m.
