Harris Hires UK and European MD

In the UK, Harris Interactive has appointed Robert Salvoni as UK and European Managing Director, replacing George Terhanian who took up the post of President of Global Solutions earlier this year.

Robert SalvoniSalvoni was previously MD at Iris Accountancy Practice Solutions (IAPS), which provides software and services to UK accountancy firms. Prior to this, he was a Director at BT where he built up the firm's wholesale service provider business, and launched and ran a series of telecoms ventures including BTOpenworld. Before this, Salvoni was an Army Officer. He has an MBA from Nottingham University.

In his new role, Salvoni will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the UK business, as well as driving growth and extending presence across the European businesses, including co-coordinating activities with the European offices in France and Germany.

Commenting on the appointment, President and CEO Kimberly Till said: 'I'm delighted to have Robert on board. He brings a strong track record in growing technology-based service businesses and is a motivational leader with strong client relationship development skills.'

Terhanian has returned to the US to oversee the firm's Centers of Excellence, direct the new product development process, and manage the company's public opinion measure, The Harris Poll.

On Friday, Harris Interactive reported a 30.4% fall in revenue for the third quarter of 2009. In the UK, revenue actually grew by 2% on a local currency basis, but was negatively impacted by foreign exchange conversion, resulting in revenues declining by 27% on a US dollar basis.
