Ipsos-RSL awarded BARB contract

Ipsos-RSL, the Ipsos group British subsidiary, has been successful in winning the establishment surveys segment of the total BARB contract .

As reported recently, the contracts for the metering of panel homes and data processing have been awarded in a surprise decision to AGB. Meanwhile, RSMB has retained its existing contract covering sample design, methodology and quality control.

Establishment surveys provide the foundation for the overall television audience system - describing the population, providing targets for audience estimates and source of recruits for members of the meter panel. Ipsos-RSL will be conducting in excess of 50 000 interviews each year.

The ever-increasing complexity of the television research environment means that there is even greater emphasis on the need for high quality establishment survey information. This award confirms Ipsos-RSL's leading position in the high quality media research sector.
