New Tracking Service on E-commerce Trends

Bancorp Piper Jaffray, an investment research provider, and Harris Interactive, an Internet market research firm, have joined forces to provide investors with information on consumer e-commerce trends.

The companies are collaborating to track monthly e-commerce spending levels by consumers, many of whom also shop on behalf of small businesses, as well as other attitudinal and behavioural data.

Results are based on an online survey of approximately 35,000 adults each month in the USA using Harris Interactive's proprietary online research methodology. Key monthly metrics reported include revenue estimates for each of 13 vertical markets tracked by the project, as well as site leaders in brand strength and customer satisfaction.

The benchmark April results are based on interviews conducted online with 35,171 adult Internet users between April 28 and May 3, 2000.
