Worldwide Online Media Measurement Conference
29/06/00

ESOMAR is busy next week with its first ever Worldwide Online Media Measurement Event (6-7 July) following hot on the heels of the Worldwide Ethnic Marketing Conference.

As some readers may be aware, ESOMAR and the ARF run regular global conferences on measurement for each of the different media. These conferences encourage global harmonisation of measurement systems and currencies and help develop guidelines for best practice. Given the rapid penetration of online media and the fast development of methods and techniques related to these new media, ESOMAR and ARF have set up the first ever Worldwide Online Media Measurement Conference.

The first day addresses the key issues in online media measurement including:

  • Data reconciliation, reducing discrepancies in audience estimates from web servers and online panels.
  • User-centric approaches - surveys and panels: a European perspective.
  • User-centric ratings: perspectives from practitioners in a panel based discussion.
  • Auditing and site-centric measurements.

The second day addresses the all important question: How do I know if my online marketing is working - are the right metrics being used? Leading advertisers talk about how they measure success on the Web with presentations from Kraft Foods, Interactive Procter & Gamble, Campbell Soup and Levi Strauss.
