28/08/00

Ipsos group revenues for the first half 2000 reached Euro132.4 million, a 33.9% increase over 1999. Growth was reportedly significant in all Ipsos sectors of specialisation and all regions of operation.

For the second quarter 2000 alone, consolidated revenues reached Euro73.9 million, a 41.6% increase over 1999.

Consolidated revenues take into account companies purchased since the beginning of 2000, i.e. Médiangles (Internet research in France), Bimsa (number one market research company in Mexico), Link (marketing research in China), Tandemar (number one in advertising market research in Canada). The Angus Reid group (number one market research company in Canada) will join consolidated revenues from July 1, 2000 onwards.

Marketing research contributed the largest share of revenue at 36% followed by advertising research at 31%. By region, Europe accounted for the lion's share with two thirds (67%) of turnover, followed by North America with 17% and Latin America with 15%.
