Acquisitions Likely for Harris Interactive
13/12/00

Harris Interactive has announced a plan, effective immediately, to repurchase up to US$5 million worth of its stock.

It is anticipated that Harris Interactive will complete the repurchase programme through open market purchases or privately negotiated transactions made from time to time. The repurchased shares will be held in treasury for possible later reissue. According to Dr. Gordon S. Black, chairman and CEO of Harris Interactive "We are repurchasing our stock both because we believe that this action will benefit our shareholders and because we can use the additional stock as part of future acquisitions." At the end of November, 2000, Harris Interactive had US$58 million in cash and marketable securities on its balance sheet. On course to achieve profitability by the fourth quarter of calendar year 2001, the firm currently has more than enough capital both to maintain current development efforts and to support likely acquisitions. The company believe that the acquisition market is increasingly attractive and will pursue opportunities where the business fit is appropriate and the price of the acquisition attractive.
