Even the Young Think About Retirement!
8/2/01

Initial findings from new research on retirement planning by Marketing Sciences suggest that young people are increasingly aware of the need for retirement planning and more inclined to do something about it - and sooner - than older generations.

However, the main influences are parental pressure and the eroding of the state pension, while the latest Government advertising campaign may be too subtle to get the message across.

These findings come from the first qualitative stage of the "Retirement Planning Monitor 2001", which will go on to track consumer attitudes and behaviour towards providing for their retirement.
