New Joint Online Healthcare Panel Venture
2/3/01

WebSurveyResearch and Total Research have announced a joint venture to deliver online surveys and information for physicians and healthcare professionals. This service will build on the success of the former’s research panel of physicians, WebSurveyMD.

WebSurveyResearch was originally established as an online service to create rapid, accurate survey research among larger samples of professionals. This was based on samples that are greater than those to be found in traditional offline surveys. Aside of WebSurveyMD, the company now also runs healthcare panels for nurses, pharmacists and dentists.

The companies have reached an agreement whereby Total Research will have immediate access to WebSurveyResearch's physician panel for performing marketing research. Total Research will perform the questionnaire design and analysis of data.

According to Jerry Arbittier, Managing Director of WebSurveyResearch, "Total's endorsement provides further verification that our strategy of using the Internet as a source for obtaining marketing research information from professionals is going to be a very powerful tool for marketing research firms in the healthcare industry. Watching the WebSurveyResearch physician panel obtain such success and starting the development of our nursing, pharmacist and dental panels is very exciting. The agreement with Total Research will aid WebSurveyResearch with its plans to continue to develop the physician panel until it reaches the initial target size of 30,000 physicians. At that time we will reevaluate if the panel needs to be larger."

Dr. Mark Nissenfeld, President, Global Life Sciences Division of Total Research added, "WebSurveyResearch provides our clients with another avenue for obtaining information from physicians. Internet surveys have the advantage of speed and economics that allow for larger samples. WebSurveyResearch's unique panel of over 10,000 physicians permits Total Research to enhance our Internet research offerings to our clients."
