Yankee Group Opens New Research Service
29/3/01

The Yankee Group has recently launched a new Australasian Market Strategies research and consulting practice, specialising in IT and telecommunications (IT&T), on Australia. This is in response to the area’s advanced telecommunications industry, its tech-savvy consumers and its highly skilled workforce.

The Yankee Group has pointed out that Australasia, whilst strongly influenced by developments in the US and Europe, also displays unique characteristics of its own. Its IT&T market reacts quickly to emerging technologies and consumer fads, and is increasingly subject to the demands of the world's equity markets and investment community. In order to help business deal with this, the group’s new service will offers its clients focused telecommunications market intelligence and strategic advice. This will be delivered through a combination of in-depth local expertise and global industry knowledge.

According to Geoff Letts, research director of the Yankee Group Australia and New Zealand, "To ensure relevant and practical outcomes from its reports, analysis and consultative deliverables, Australasian Market Strategies employs an analytical methodology based on three fundamental dimensions, specifically designed for this market and its players. Through this we show the state of and trends in user demand, vendor share and market growth. Our underpinning analysis is based on sound primary research, industry surveys and frequent interviews with key decision makers and our authoritative expert panel. We also draw from Yankee Group's respected Global Network Strategies (GNS) Survey, Technologically Advanced Family (TAF) Survey, and Mobile User Survey."
