Polish Acquisition for Ipsos

The Ipsos group has acquired a 59.5% stake in Polish research company Demoskop, with the deal due to be completed on July 1st.

Founded in 1989, Demoskop -soon to be called Ipsos-Demoskop-will be managed by Wlodek Daab, who previously served as Research Director at TNS Central Europe, and is currently an ESOMAR Council Member. Slawomir Nowotny, initial founder of Demoskop, will also remain active in the company as a research consultant. With 45 permanent staff, Demoskop ranks among the leading companies on the Polish research market, with revenues expected to reach about Euros 2 million in 2001.

Specialising in marketing, advertising and social research, Demoskop essentially works with companies in the FMCG, automotive, banking, telecommunications and B-to-B sectors. It offers comprehensive research services, both qualitative and quantitative.

Due to this acquisition, Ipsos strengthens its position on the Central European research market.
