New Appointments at Harris Interactive

May 14 2003

Harris Interactive has this week announced two new appointments. Jim Heisler joins the Customer Loyalty management practice to serve as vice president and senior consultant, whilst Mara Shelby has joined the agency as vice president, Strategic Marketing Solutions.

Formerly a corporate director and executive vice president of Opinion Research Corporation, Heisler has a 25-year history of successfully growing and managing strategic accounts across a wide range of industries. Heisler's work with leading Fortune 1000 companies in IT, telecommunications, financial services, hospitality and healthcare encompasses the full range of marketing research applications, from customer loyalty and proprietary Web panels to brand research, pricing, segmentation, product design, positioning, communications and customer relationship management.

'With his excellent focus on using the 'voice of the customer' as a strategic umbrella under which to develop actionable tactical research, Jim is well positioned to work with new and existing clients in the Customer Loyalty Management practice at Harris Interactive,' said Terri Flanagan, division president. 'His experience matches our group's specialty of identifying and measuring the drivers of customer loyalty and retention and linking them to process improvements and financial outcomes.'

Mara Shelby will be responsible for identifying significant business opportunities and for establishing and maintaining business relationships across a host of vertical markets. She has over 30 years of strategic marketing and marketing research experience. Beginning her career at American Express, Shelby gained experience on the supplier side at Market Facts and on the agency side at both BBDO and Hill & Knowlton. Immediately prior to joining Harris Interactive, Shelby served as senior vice president at Target Research Group of Nanuet, NY. Before her stint at Target, she was the chief research officer at Greenfield Online, and president of The Falconwood Group, which she founded after spending eight years as president of both Chelsea Research Group and Chelsea Consulting, marketing consulting firms.

Reflecting on her expertise, Greg Novak, group president, stated, 'Mara's extensive experience in consumer and business-to-business research, particularly in the areas of consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals and financial services, will strengthen our ability to satisfy our customers. We're delighted to have her aboard.'
