In the US, site rating and sharing community StumbleUpon has appointed Melinda Chung as Product Marketing Manager and Katie Gray as Marketing Communications Manager.

Founded in 2001, StumbleUpon is based in San Francisco and backed by some of the same investors who backed in Google and Facebook. The site has over 10 million users and provides 600 million personalized recommendations per month.

Chung joins with eight years’ marketing experience. Most recently, she worked as Senior Product Marketing Manager at Yahoo!, where she led product marketing initiatives which drove competitive analysis, user behaviour analysis, market research and success metrics. Before this, she worked for Live Search (now Bing), and performance marketing firm QuinStreet.

In her new role, she will work closely with the product and marketing teams on strategy and messaging.

Gray joins from Google, where she worked in AdWords, driving strategic marketing and analytics programs for advertisers.

At StumbleUpon, she will develop strategic communication programs and also work with the product development and engineering teams to improve user experience.

‘We are thrilled to welcome Melinda and Katie on board,’ said Garrett Camp, founder and CEO. ‘Their extensive experience with product marketing, research and strategy will be a great asset as we continue to grow the company.’
