Barry SmithIn the UK, database marketing services specialist GI Insight has appointed former Experian exec Barry Smith as Senior Consultant, to help develop new business and expand relationships with existing clients.

Leicester-based GI Insight offers a ‘pick and mix’ service – which includes customer analytics, marketing segmentation, and multi-channel campaign management, along with other database management services such as data capture.

Smith joins from information services firm Transactis, where he served as Client Development Director with overall responsibility for sales strategy. Prior to this, he spent nine years at data giant Experian, where he latterly served as Head of Channel Development at Experian Integrated Marketing. Earlier in his career, Smith was responsible for data-driven revenue at IPC Media, and was Client Development Manager at Claritas.

Commenting on the appointment, GI Insight’s MD Andy Wood said: ‘Barry brings to GI Insight a wealth of experience in sales, revenue generation, and customer relationship management. He is someone who can really help the companies we work with to identify the areas in which we can really assist them in boosting their business.’
