
In the US, social media research company Fizziology has hired film tracking specialist Greg Buell as Director of West Coast Sales, covering film and television clients.
Hollywood-based Fizziology analyzes social media sentiment to provide advertising advice, casting guidance and box office predictions to the movie industry. The firm recently introduced a tool called
SocialDensity, to measure the social media impact of TV programs.
Buell (pictured) joins from EMMAnalysis (Emerging Media Monitoring & Analysis), where he worked as a Social Media Strategist for more than three years. Prior to this, he held business development roles with New Media Strategies, MarketTools and Harris Interactive, having begun his sales career at The Hollywood Reporter.
Separately, Carter Weiss, founding partner of the consumer venture capital fund Silas Capital and co-founder of consumer products brand Built NY, will join Fizziology’s advisory committee, to assist with corporate development and to help maintain and create new business ventures.
President and co-founder Ben Carlson says the combined experience of the two new appointees will be ‘an unbelievable asset’ for the firm.
