Eye tracking and gaze interaction specialist Tobii Technology has appointed Carl Korobkin for its newly created role of US Vice President of Business Development and OEM Solutions.

Carl KorobkinFounded in 2001, Tobii is based in Sweden with offices in the US, China, Germany, Japan and Norway. Earlier in the year, microchip maker Intel invested $21m in Tobii, to help the company move its solutions to ‘mass-market’ applications such as mainstream computers, cars, games and other consumer products.

In his new role, Korobkin will work with current and prospective Tobii partners, to help develop these commercial and consumer eye-tracking offerings.

He joins with more than two decades of experience in engineering, business development, and executive management. Most recently, he served as Director of Worldwide Strategic Sales and Partner Development for Online Media at Dolby Laboratories. Prior to this, he set up his own mobile and streaming media focused firm, and was VP at computer vision, gesture recognition and motion sensing technology company GestureTek.
