
US online conversation specialist Bazaarvoice has appointed former Nielsen exec Ari Paparo for its newly created role of Senior Vice President of Media Products, responsible for driving the growth and development of the firm’s data, media, and ad products.
Founded in 2005 by CEO Brett Hurt, Bazaarvoice offers technology, analytics and expertise to help companies use social data derived from online word-of-mouth content to increase sales, acquire new customers, and improve marketing effectiveness. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, the company also has offices in Amsterdam, London, Munich, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Stockholm and Sydney.
Paparo (pictured) joins from online ad platform AppNexus, where he served as SVP, Product Manager, in charge of refining the firm’s core offerings. Prior to this, he was EVP, Product Leadership at Nielsen, managing a cross-functional global product team of 15. Earlier, he served as Product Director, Advertiser Products at Google, and VP, Rich Media at DoubleClick.
In his new role, Paparo, will report to CEO, President, and CFO Stephen Collins, who comments: ‘Ari has a tremendous track record of visionary product development and growth in online advertising and related technologies, and we expect him to have a huge impact on our ability to grow our business through product innovation.’
