The South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF) has elected a new Chairman. Sarel du Plessis, publisher and Senior General Manager of Media 24 division RCP Media, takes over from Francois Loubser.

RCP publishes the South African Sunday newspapers Rapport, City Press, Sunday Sun and Sondag. du Plessis is the first Chairman to come from the print industry, where he has worked for almost 30 years, including roles at Republican Press, Times Media and Times Newspapers where he was Sales and Marketing Director. He is active on several industry bodies, including Print Media SA, the Newspaper Association of SA, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) of SA, and SAPA.

The new Vice Chair is Mike Siluma, previously CEO of Jacaranda and as of January, Group Executive: Corporate and Regulatory Affairs at Kagiso Media.
