Gavin GordonUK-based consumer insight and strategic consulting firm Future Foundation has appointed former Mintel sales exec Gavin Gordon as Vice President, Sales, North America at its US business Future Foundation nVision Inc. in New York City.

Future Foundation, which was launched in 1996, draws on a proprietary quant and qual research programme across 25 global markets, tracking from trend spotters in more than 50 markets, a panel of industry experts, and third party data in order to identify and forecast social and consumer trends. The company’s management team bought out previous owner Experian in 2009.

Gordon (pictured) joins from consumer insights business Mintel, where he worked for nearly five years in the UK and US, and latterly served as VP Business Development in the Greater Chicago area. Earlier, he held senior roles at Trinity Mirror Group and Haymarket Media Group.

In his new role, Gordon, will focus on the firm’s online insight platform nVision USA, which explores US consumer lifestyles, attitudes and behaviour. The tool combines quantitative and qualitative elements, including a growing network of on-the-ground trend spotters resident in more than twenty major US cities, and the firm says that Gordon’s appointment is part of its continued expansion into the US market.
