Survey Sampling International (SSI) has hired Jim Ransom as MD for Canada, based in Toronto. He joins from ICOM, a division of Alliance Data, and also worked at ACNielsen for 16 years.

During the last two of his eight years with ICOM, Ransom served as the North American Business Director for the Research, Tobacco, and Automotive sectors. His time at ACNielsen was spent in business development and retailer relationship roles. He is a graduate of the University of Waterloo.

Terry Coen, SSI Executive VP, says the appointment is an important element in the firm’s worldwide expansion plans. He adds: ‘I have known Jim for a dozen years and consider SSI extremely fortunate to be joined by this experienced professional.’

SSI’s Internet panels span 24 countries and give access to nearly 9 million household members, representing more than 3.7 million unique households worldwide.
