Beatrice CapestanyIn the US, consumer insights specialist Touchstone Research has appointed Beatrice Capestany as Senior Research Analyst, with a remit to conduct qual and quant studies, while overseeing the firm's research tech and methodologies, and its development of new tools and applications.

Branford, CT-based Touchstone offers a full range of services from questionnaire design, survey programing and qualitative recruiting, to ad hoc quant and qual studies. The firm also builds and manages custom online research panels and insight communities, and conducts ethnography and digital research, mobile app/game testing, and kids and families research. Two years ago, the company launched a division called Touchstone VR, to provide MR services to the virtual reality and augmented reality (AR/VR) industries.

Capestany (pictured) previously held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Duke Initiative for Science and Society. During this time, she supervised project teams, mentored junior researchers, completed research projects, and communicated data insights to diverse audiences. She also led several studies investigating how humans interact with emerging technologies (AR/VR and neurotechnology), designed mixed-methods applied research projects and organized research initiatives to understand human behavior. She holds a PhD in Psychology & Neuroscience from Duke University, and an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience & Behavior from Vassar College.
