Peter RandazzoData-driven performance marketing agency Merkle has promoted Peter Randazzo to the position of Global Chief Technology Officer.

Dentsu Aegis-owned Merkle uses its experience of data, technology and analytics to uncover consumer insights and drive people-based marketing strategies. In an effort to optimize synergies and operational efficiencies, Merkle is expanding the remit of its Enterprise Solutions Group to include the Product and Platform operations across all the company's brands on a global basis. As Merkle acquires additional companies, Randazzo (pictured) and his team will integrate those product teams as appropriate.

Most recently, Randazzo served as CTO for the agency's Product and Platforms group. In this role, he led the implementation of a team and product development approach that had previously been used to launch and enhance many of Merkle's core products and platforms, including its Connected Recognition, DataSource and M1 platforms. Earlier, he spent eight years at online buzz measurement specialist iCrossing as CTO, reporting to the CEO and leading software product development, tech services, infrastructure and data science groups. Before this, he was CTO of digital content and audiences network Core Audience; and CIO of Omnicom-owned marcoms firm Agency.com.

In his new role, he will report to John Lee, Chief Product and Data Officer, who says Randazzo's ability to lead large teams, drive innovative thinking, and inspire the adoption of cutting-edge technology has been proven many times over. Chairman and CEO David Williams adds: 'Over the course of the next year, Peter will define the teams, plans, and organizational relationships that will drive technology integration across all Merkle brands and future acquired entities'.
