In Hong Kong, TV broadcaster STAR has appointed Ron Plante as SVP of Research, spearheading research for ad sales, marketing, programs and audience measurement across the firm’s teams in India, Greater China and Southeast Asia.

Plante joins from Research for Lifetime Networks, where he served as VP responsible for Programming and MR. Prior to this, he held several posts with NBC, most recently as VP Research with CNBC Europe. He has a BS in Management from Boston College.

In his new role, he reports to President of Entertainment Todd Lituchy, who comments: ‘Ron is a television executive with a wealth of research and marketing experience that spans two decades and two continents. His expertise will be counted upon heavily as we expand our offering across the region and broaden the ways in which we build connections with our viewers and our advertisers.’

Launched in 1991, STAR broadcasts entertainment, sports, movies, music, news and documentaries, and reaches more than 300 million viewers in 53 countries across Asia.
