US information firm Consumer Health Sciences (CHS) has appointed Dr Samuel Wagner as VP Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR).

In his new role, he will lead the HEOR function, which includes conducting research based on the firm’s National Health and Wellness Survey (NHWS) which is conducted annually from a population of 120,000 adult consumers in the US and Europe. Later this year, CHS plans to launch NHWS in Asia.

Wagner previously held similar positions at pharmaceutical companies Pharmacia, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca. Most recently, he was Field Economics Director, External Medical Relations and Director and Group Leader of Respiratory HEOR at AstraZeneca. A registered pharmacist, Wagner received his PhD in Pharmacoeconomics and MA in Pharmacy Practice from Northwest University in South Africa.

‘Sam brings valuable industry experience, talent and leadership abilities to CHS’s HEOR function,’ said COO Michael Fronstin, to whom Wagner reports. ‘We are confident that he will take CHS to the next level in helping healthcare companies make maximum use of our consumer-reported data.’
