In the UK, shopper marketing agency Saatchi & Saatchi X has promoted Simon Hathaway from UK CEO to the newly created job of EMEA CEO, responsible for leading the firm’s expansion in Europe. He is replaced by Anthony Hopper who joins as UK General Manager.
Hathaway joined the Saatchi & Saatchi group in 2003, and moved to its X division when it was launched at the start of 2004 to work with global retail brands.
Tom Murray, its Global CEO, commented: ‘Simon is a proven performer who constantly delivers. He will further spark the innovative work we are conducting across Europe, and is a key member of our executive global team.’
Hopper joins from communications agency Chemistry Group where he was Head of Strategy and Planning. Prior to this, he was Client Services Director at The Marketing Store Worldwide in Sydney, Australia.
In his new role, Hopper will support Hathaway to expand the agency’s client growth throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Saatchi & Saatchi X is part of the Publicis ad agency network, and employs more than 350 people across 16 offices in six countries worldwide.
