Introduction:

We are looking for a Research Director to join our team in Brazil! You are the ideal candidate for this role if you bring extensive market research expertise, strong team leadership experience, and a commercial mindset. In this position, you will be responsible for leading key client relationships, overseeing complex research programs, and driving business growth while ensuring high standards of research quality and client satisfaction. You will play a critical role in strengthening Toluna's position in the Brazil market by combining strategic client leadership, research excellence, and people development.


Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead strategic client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring high-quality client experience across a portfolio of key accounts.
  • Drive business growth through the expansion of existing accounts and contribution to proposals, pitches, and new business opportunities.
  • Optimize value through smart use of internal tools/AI, efficient delivery, and margin-aware scoping.
  • Oversee the design and execution of complex research studies across a variety of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, ensuring high-quality, actionable outputs.
  • Provide strategic guidance on study design, analysis, interpretation, and storytelling to ensure impactful deliverables and presentations.
  • Lead final client presentations, delivering clear, compelling, and insight-driven recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong oversight of timelines, quality, and team performance.
  • Work closely with Sales, Project Management, and Operations to ensure seamless project execution and excellent service delivery.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop senior members of the research team, supporting Associate Directors and Senior Research Managers building a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Contribute sector and methodological expertise to internal discussions, client proposals, and business strategy.

Your profile:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of market research experience, ideally on the supplier's side.
  • Strong experience managing senior client relationships and overseeing large or complex accounts.
  • Deep expertise across quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in questionnaire design, analysis, client presentations, and project oversight.
  • AI/Tech savvy: strong prompting and effective use of new AI tools to accelerate work.
  • Proven leadership experience, including coaching and developing researchers.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify opportunities for account growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with both internal partners and external clients.
  • Languages: English proficiency is mandatory; Portuguese fluency is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively lead in a dynamic environment.
