Behavioural Scientist / Consultant - Commercial Behaviour Change Melbourne or Sydney $AUD 75-100,000 + Super + Bonus - (posted Feb 23 2026)

Company: Resources Group
Advertisers Ref: JB009887
MrWeb Ref: 162739

Job Spec: What if behavioural science wasn't just insight-led... but action-driven?

This specialist consultancy partners with major organisations to solve complex behavioural challenges, not through theory alone, but through practical, commercially grounded solutions that shift real-world outcomes.

Working across sectors including financial services, healthcare, education and retail, they help clients redesign experiences, communications, systems and environments to drive measurable behaviour change. From board-level strategy through to frontline activation, their work is embedded, applied and outcome-focused.

If you're motivated by seeing behavioural theory come to life and want to play a hands-on role in making that happen, this could be the move.

The Role

You'll work across the full lifecycle of behavioural consulting projects, from diagnosing challenges to designing, testing and embedding interventions.

This means you'll:

  • Partner closely with clients to unpack complex behavioural and commercial problems
  • Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative research to understand decision-making and behavioural drivers
  • Translate insight into practical, evidence-based interventions
  • Apply behavioural frameworks and experimental thinking to optimise outcomes
  • Shape customer, employee or stakeholder journeys using behavioural principles
  • Support pilots, trials and evaluation (including structured testing approaches where relevant)
  • Facilitate workshops and communicate recommendations in a compelling, actionable way.

You won't be sitting on the sidelines writing reports that gather dust. You'll be helping organisations implement change.

Why This Consultancy?
  • A genuinely applied behavioural science environment
  • Exposure to senior decision-makers and strategic conversations
  • Projects that balance rigour with creativity
  • A culture that values intellectual curiosity and commercial pragmatism
  • Flexibility in how and where you work
  • The opportunity to grow as a consultant, not just as a researcher.

About You

We're open to Behavioural Scientists or Behavioural Consultants who bring:
  • Postgraduate training in behavioural science, psychology, behavioural economics or a related discipline
  • Experience in consulting, behavioural insights, strategy, or research environments
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical capability
  • Confidence navigating ambiguity and shaping client conversations
  • A commercial mindset - you care about outcomes, not just insights
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.

Most importantly, you're excited by the challenge of turning behavioural theory into tangible impact.

If you're looking for a role where behavioural science sits at the heart of business decision-making, and where your work genuinely shapes outcomes, I'd love to have a conversation.
