Job Spec: Vernon Research Group, a business unit of Amperage LLC, is seeking a strategic and intellectually curious Qualitative Research Analyst to lead research initiatives that uncover meaningful human insights and inform business decisions. This role is ideal for a research professional who combines methodological rigor with the ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
The Qualitative Research Analyst plays a key role in designing and executing qualitative research that helps clients better understand their audiences, brands and opportunities. This position requires strong analytical thinking, effective communication skills and the ability to manage projects from concept through delivery. Candidates should demonstrate ownership, accountability and a commitment to maintaining high research standards aligned with client objectives.
Primary responsibilities include leading the design and execution of qualitative research aligned with client goals, translating business objectives into research proposals and plans, and designing and moderating focus groups, in-depth interviews and other methodologies. The role also includes recruiting and sourcing participants to ensure representative, high-quality samples; managing data collection, organization and synthesis; analyzing findings to identify themes, patterns and actionable insights; and developing reports and presentations with clear strategic recommendations. The analyst will present insights to clients, collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate findings into broader marketing and business strategies, and stay current on emerging qualitative research tools and industry trends.
A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Sociology, Psychology or a related field is required, along with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience. Market research experience is preferred.
Ideal candidates possess strong written and verbal communication skills, advanced qualitative analysis and critical thinking abilities, and high attention to detail. They demonstrate the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights and are proficient with qualitative analysis software, recruiting systems and Microsoft Office. Effective project management skills, the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, a collaborative mindset and intellectual curiosity are essential.
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications, with a salary range of $58,000 to $63,000.
This position offers flexible work options, including remote or hybrid arrangements. However, candidates must be located in Iowa to support occasional in-person collaboration and client engagements.
