IPA Agency Rankings 2001 | July 1 2002 |
The IPA in the UK has just published its member agency league tables for 2001. These tables are based on gross incomes of more than £250,000 and show individual agency income by region and type, and as an all agency ranking.
The tables show that Saatchi & Saatchi still tops the agencies (and London) league tables with a mighty annual income of £52,750,000. Other winners include Faulds Advertising, topping the Scottish table at £3,930,381;A V Browne Advertising championing the Northern Ireland table at £2,064,584; and HPS Marketing Communications victorious in the South/South East table at £2,037,393. McCann-Erickson managed to secure multiple honours - Manchester leads the Regional table at £23,024,575 as well as the North table; while McCann-Erickson Central tops the Midlands table at £11,779,713.
The rankings by advertising sector showed a different story. Here, WWAV/Rapp Collins tops the dm/integrated/sales promotion table at £29,423,000; MindShare Media UK tops the media table at £24,085,771; and Poster Publicity top the outdoor specialists table at £7,077,193.
IPA president Bruce Haines noted, 'We are grateful to our members for allowing the IPA to publish a fuller second set of gross income figures. What they continue to demonstrate is that we are an industry that punches massively above our weight in terms of business contribution. While billings is still a valid measure for media agencies, it's important we also have a gross income ranking so that industry observers have a true sense of our size and income streams.' Gross income for the purposes of these rankings is defined as total agency commission, service fees and other fees in the calendar year 2001 from advertising, media, business to business, sales promotion, direct marketing and recruitment
