New CEO at CIM | January 16 2003 |
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in the UK has appointed a new chief executive, Peter Fisk, as the organisation looks to increase its presence within the international marketing arena.
According to the CIM, Mr Fisk's main role will be to establish the organisation as the world's leading professional marketing body. Mr Fisk commented, 'The CIM is well known as the training ground of marketing, but has done less for more senior marketers. It needs to address the needs and ambitions of every level of marketer, of members and non-members, and of business in general.'
He has also revealed plans to boost the role of marketing functions within businesses and to help marketers 'command a much stronger voice in the boardroom'.
Fisk joins the CIM from PA Consulting Group where he worked as a strategic marketer with clients such as American Express, BT and Microsoft. He replaces former chief executive, John Stubbs, who retired at the end of last year.
