Hall & Partners Acquired by Omnicom
December 5 2003

Brand communications and research agency Hall & Partners has this week been acquired by the Diversified Agency Services (DAS) division of the Omnicom Group for an undisclosed sum. Hall & Partners will continue to operate as an independent company.

DAS has acquired 100% of the shareholding in Hall & Partners Group and all its operating subsidiaries, including Hall & Partners USA, Hall & Partners Europe, Hall & Partners Healthcare, and Hall & Partners Healthcare Brand & Communications Research.

Diversified Agency Services (DAS) manages Omnicom's holdings in a variety of marketing disciplines, including customer relationship management, public relations and specialty communications. DAS includes more than 100 companies, which operate through a combination of networks and regional organizations. They serve international and local clients through 600 offices in over 65 countries. In the customer relationship management area, DAS companies include three of the top 10 promotional marketing agencies and worldwide leaders in sales promotion (Alcone Marketing Group, The Integer Group and Tracy Locke Partnership), global direct marketing company Rapp Collins Worldwide, and Interbrand, one of the world's leading consultancies in brand strategy, valuation, and naming. In addition, three of the world's top seven public relations firms fall under the DAS umbrella, Fleishman-Hillard, Ketchum, and Porter Novelli International.

Commenting on the acquisition, the chairman of Hall & Partners, Mike Hall said, 'Over the years we've had dozens of approaches from research, media and advertising agencies, many of which would have resulted in our being merged into a larger entity and becoming their specialist ad research division. We have a lot more to offer than that and wanted to preserve our distinctive positioning and business culture. DAS wants the same as us'.
