Behavioural Ad Tool Launched

In the UK, digital agency Imagini has rolled out the beta version of a tool that enables bloggers and web publishers to add personalised product recommendations to their sites, and generate demographic, psychographic and behavioural analytics from their site visitors.

The new VisualDNA Shops widget currently delivers real-time product suggestions from Amazon.com to every site visitor, based on their responses to a series of visual questions.

It does this using the company's VisualDNA profiling tool, which works out consumers' personality types based on the pictures they choose. Imagini draws the data from its consumer site, Youniverse, which has profiled more than 15 million people since 2006.

An advanced system is also available, which offers analytics to allow site owners and bloggers to view the types of visitors that arrive at their sites, as well as who they are and what appeals to them. This version also allows for new products to be suggested to different types of shopper, and provides 'Similar Site' analysis that shows visitors other sites visited by people with similar preferences.

MD Charles Wiles explains: 'VisualDNA Shops provides an addition and alternative to online advertising, as well as allowing you to connect with your site visitors in a very personal way. Now, you will be able to increase consumer engagement and understanding by providing highly relevant suggestions of products from some of the leading ecommerce sites in the world.'

The firm also intends to include products from sites such as eBay and Shopping.com in the next few weeks, and a percentage of every purchase made will be paid directly to the web site or blog owner.
