Research Pacific Enhances Asian Ops

The Research Pacific Group has opened a Consumer Insights studio in Tokyo and moved its Korean operation to new offices in Seoul. The firm has also created a new Language Services Unit at its HQ in Singapore.

Research Pacific Japan's new studio - 'The Qualitative Connection' - offers observation facilities, a web casting service (to enable clients to watch surveys on line from their own country), bi-lingual moderators/interpreters and a dedicated recruitment service. It is based between Ueno Park, the Yushina Shrine, and the Akihabara, which the firm says is ideal for visiting clients as well as for respondent access.

At the new Korean new offices in Kangnam ku, the firm has invested in wireless audio for client listening in viewing or adjacent meeting rooms, plasma screen projection, web streaming and more. It addition to its technology, the firm employs a qual team of on-staff moderators and interpreters with particular expertise in the healthcare/pharmaceutical and IT sectors.

Research Pacific Korea has also set up a small CATI hub of 8 stations, which it says can be expanded if required for larger scale studies.

In Singapore, the company has opened a new Language Services Unit (LSU) to handle issues surrounding translations, transcriptions and interpretations. Headed by Grace Wei, this unit will review and guarantee standards across all group businesses. Wei has a BSc in Business Administration from Shines College in Singapore, is bi-lingual in English and Mandarin, and familiar with Japanese and Korean.
