Openwave Adds to Mobile Analytics Tool

US mobile and broadband software developer Openwave Systems has updated its mobile analytics platform to help carriers better understand mobile data usage, segmented by various subscriber demographics and peak usage times.

The latest version of Mobile Analytics provides analytics and reporting for feature phones, smartphones, netbooks and other mobile devices, to identify data consumption patterns which will ultimately help operators better price and deliver targeted content to users.

It enables operators to better monitor, manage and monetize various types of mobile data traffic, including mobile Internet, messaging and social networking usage, as well as better understand consumption patterns and user demographics, and provide early identification of mobile data trends.

Its business intelligence and reporting capabilities have been designed to define what is happening in an operator's network, while also providing insight as to why it is happening and what is likely to take place in the near future - based on both historical and current data analysis.

'Our analytics offering enables operators to improve their understanding of mobile data usage, view mobile traffic patterns and make adjustments accordingly to optimize network bandwidth and deliver targeted content to users,' stated Sean MacNeill, VP of Global Services and Support.

Openwave, which is headquartered in Redwood City, California, is online at www.openwave.com .
