Harris Interactive Asia President to Depart

Harris Interactive's Asia President Anthony Venus has decided to leave the firm in mid-November. He will re-locate from Hong Kong to Sydney, where he plans to pursue a career in private equity.

Anthony VenusVenus co-founded Asian research firm MarketShare in 2002, prior to its acquisition by Harris Interactive in 2007 when he took up his present role. Before MarketShare, Venus led Strategic Intelligence Research and held senior positions in product management and business development with The Economist Group.

'I would like to thank Anthony for all of his efforts in establishing, developing, and growing the Asia business thus far,' President and CEO Kimberly Till said in an internal memo. 'I am sure you will all join me in wishing him well for his new life back in Australia.'

Recently appointed Robert Salvoni, who works as UK and European Managing Director, will expand his existing role to include management of Asia.

Till added that Ali Mirza and the rest of the senior team in Asia will remain in their current positions, and said that she is confident that Salvoni and the Asia team will facilitate the firm's 'rapid expansion and growth' in the region.

In September the Nasdaq Stock Market gave Harris Interactive 180 days to increase its share price, after it fell below the $1 per share requirement for the previous 30 consecutive business days. Today shares in the firm are trading at $0.91.
