Hoppenstedt Buys RAAD Research

In Germany, business information firm Hoppenstedt has acquired IT market research and analysis specialist RAAD Research. Terms were not disclosed.

Nils NiehÖrsterHoppenstedt says that the acquisition will enable it to build a new business unit for industry-specific studies and analysis which will complement its own company database portfolio.

B2B specialist RAAD Research conducts primary and secondary research on current marketplace issues. Its staff advise on operational, tactical and strategic issues relating to marketing and sales processes, and to market and brand strategy.

The firm has developed a database of IT usage in the largest German companies, and creates both in-house studies and tailor-made studies.

As part of the transaction, all RAAD Research employees will become part of the Hoppenstedt group. The firm's former MD Nils NiehÖrster will be tasked with expanding Hoppenstedt's Corporate Information Division, reporting directly to the unit's MD Ulrich Mueller.

'RAAD Research is a strategic extension of our offering,' said Mueller. 'The combination of RAAD's market research data with our own information products will create detailed knowledge of the IT market, and offer market research and analysis across Europe.

Hoppenstedt, which belongs to the Swedish digital business information group Bisnode, is online at www.hoppenstedt.de while RAAD Research is on the web at www.raad.de .
