Andrew Irving Launches New Firm

UK researcher Andrew Irving has launched a new qual-focused agency, AIMR, three years after selling his last company to Optimisa.

Andrew Irving and Dorothy ChangAIMR is headed up by Irving and Dorothy Chang, formerly a director of Andrew Irving Associates (AIA).

Irving, who as MD of AIA worked on major government campaigns on areas such as blood donation, fire safety, disability, and drink/drive, says of the new venture: 'We are now looking forward to having the freedom and flexibility to do work of the highest standard. We are keen to build on our well established reputation for quality and providing clients with clear and well thought out guidance.'

AIA Veteran Nicky Spicer was promoted to the role of MD of AIA in March last year, with Irving taking the role of President - he formally left the business at the end of the year.

Optimisa bought AIA in October 2006, and was highly confident in April 2008, but hit problems within 7 weeks with 'extremely disappointing' trading conditions, reported a £4.5m loss for 2008 and delisted from the AIM (Alternative Investment Market) stock exchange in London in July, as a cost-saving measure. Former Synovate UK boss Michelle Norman became CEO of Optimisa's MR businesses last October, replacing the departing Andrew Wiseman.
