comScore Hires Tech Chief from AOL

In the US, online measurement specialist comScore has appointed former AOL ad technology leader Chris Nicotra as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for overseeing software and data application engineering, and the infrastructure technology teams.

Chris NicotraIn his new role Nicotra replaces Greg Dale, recently promoted to the post of COO.

At AOL, Nicotra served as SVP of Advertising Technology and CTO/CIO for Advertising.com, working closely with the business teams to develop AOL's ad strategy and technical roadmaps. During his tenure, he managed the ad engineering and technical operations teams, comprising several hundred engineers. Prior to this, he played significant roles in startup and consulting companies, including AnyStream, High Speed America, and Vivigy.

'Chris has a reputation as an outstanding technology leader,' said Dale. 'His extensive experience building large scale networks based on real-time data will be instrumental to the development of our next generation of products based on our proprietary panel-centric hybrid methodology.'

Nicotra joins former colleague Eric Bosco, who was appointed as Chief Product Officer in January, having served previously as AOL's SVP of Global Products.
