Millward Brown Plans Vietnam Office

Global group Millward Brown has announced plans to open a new office in Vietnam during the second half of 2010, with a team led by Phil Worthington and Pham Chau Linh.

The plan is subject to approval from the Vietnamese authorities.

For the past five years MB has used a licensee arrangement for presence in the country. The new business will be headed by Worthington, who worked at Millward Brown Thailand during 2005 and 2006 and has fifteen years' experience in the region. Prior to MB he held key regional client development and global product development roles for Nielsen in Vietnam and Thailand.

Worthington will be joined by Pham Chau Linh, a veteran of research in the country with ten years' experience who will play a key role introducing Millward Brown services to local clients.

Gonzalo Fuentes, the firm's MD for South East Asia, says Vietnam is 'an increasingly important market for multinational clients' and that local clients also represent a great opportunity. 'After five years in Vietnam working with a licensee, having our own presence is now a priority for Millward Brown... We are very pleased to have Phil and Linh on board who will build a team of strong research consultants to achieve this vision.'

Millward Brown is part of Kantar within WPP, and is on the web at www.millwardbrown.com .
